He has completed his graduation in Microbiology and Post-graduation in Biotechnology from Karnataka University and further he completed PhD in Biochemistry (Molecular HIV Virology) from University of Mumbai. He has carried out his molecular Virology research at National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health [NIRRH] a premier Indian Council of Medical Research, (ICMR) Institute in Mumbai.
Strong research professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) focused in Virology from University of Mumbai. His research work has been significantly contributed in understanding the mechanism of transmission and Pathogenesis of HIV and His Research work has yielded several International young scientist / Global health awards and Scholarships and the work has been presented at national and International scientific events and published in high impact Journals.
Fogarty International HIV/AIDS Training Fellowship from National Institute of Health, USA, in Advance in Molecular Pathology and Molecular Virology techniques at Harvard Medical School, USA. Mentors: Dr Deborah Anderson (Boston Medical School) Dr Kenneth Mayer (Brown University) Manish Sagar (Harvard University).
Previously He was Head/ Lab Director of Molecular Diagnostics laboratory, Bangalore before He was working as Head of Infectious Disease and Molecular Biology at SRL Diagnostics. He was associated with Lilac Insights Private Limited as Scientific Officer – F in Department of Molecular Oncology, the lab is fully equipped with state of art of facility to carry out Onco Molecular test Panels for Haematological malignancies and Solid Tumours with advanced sequencing technologies.
Before Joining Lilac, Dr Shivaji was working at Head of Laboratory Operations at Mapmygenome and Co-Head of Infectious Disease at Sandor Life sciences. He has also worked as Senior Scientist C at NIMR, Indian Council of Medical Research, (ICMR) Goa on the project “Malaria Evolution in South Asia” funded by National Institute of Health and International Centre of Excellence for Malaria Research, (ICEMR) National Institute of Allergy and Infectious diseases (NIAID) USA.
He was heading Molecular Diagnostics laboratory Covid In-charge and Nodal Officer and He has extensive experience in the area of Molecular Oncology, Haematological malignancy and Solid Tumours, Molecular Oncology and Genomics and Clinical Diagnostics, NABL, CSIR, CE Certifications. Overall 20 years of experience in molecular diagnostics, Virology, Infectious disease. Independent consultant / Senior Scientist area of molecular biology, Life science and diagnostics, virology and biotechnology.
